NDIS
Morning Osteopathy is currently the only Coolangatta and Gold Coast-based osteopathy clinic to prioritise osteopathy for disability care and NDIS pain management.
Are you somebody living with a permanent disability? Do you receive funding from the NDIS? Are you plan-managed or self-managed? If yes, then depending on your goals, you may be able to get your osteopathy visits paid for from your funding.
If your goals relate to moving better, decrease pain, or involvement in a community or sporting activity and many more, it's likely osteopathy can be paid for via you NDIS finding.
Movement can often be a limiting factor for many individuals with a disability, that's where osteopathy can help. Our practitioners are not only registered osteopaths, but have additional training to care for disabled people. We understand that components of someones disability may limit their ability to do daily tasks or desired activities. Osteopathy can greatly assist a disabled person to perform those tasks indipendently.
Pain is also a common complaint of people with disabilities. Osteopaths are very effective at pain management. We use a range of gentle and firm techniques to help people in pain. We also provide take home strategies to reduce the frequency and intensity of pain, either in the form of exercise, lifestyle changes or other medication free methods.
We provide hands on care to assist you to move and feel better in the body you have. We cannot directly treat most recognised disabilities, but osteopathy can improve function and your ability to perform tasks. Tools that we may use within a consult include: gentle or deep massage, joint mobilisations, balance exercises, strengthen exercises, and client or carer education.
During your osteopathic sessions we may demonstrate a variety of exercises, provide hands on therapy, offer lifestyle advice and environment modifications to assist in reaching your goal. We will assess your body and functional capacity to achieve a range of tasks or movements. The physical and neurological assessments allow us to provide focused management plans, screen for serious medical concerns (red flags) as well as track changes over time. Osteopathy is a gentle, mostly hands on therapy that works with the neuro-musculoskeletal system to assist the body toward optimal function.
When booking an appointment with us be sure to inform us that you would like to use your NDIS funding to pay for your consults as eligibility requirements, session times and fees vary (for a full list of our fees please click here).
Please also bring a copy of your current NDIS plan to your appointment and with particular attention to your outlined goals and relevant contact information of your Plan Manager.
